Our extra-curricular highlights
Debating and public speaking
Students can develop their thinking, communication and teamwork skills through public speaking.
Every year the school holds a public speaking competition with the winners going on to represent the school against other schools. They also have the chance to compete in state events.
Creative and performing arts
Our drama club, music and art programs help students be creative and express themselves. They can join in concerts, art shows and drama activities. The school has a junior and senior band, drumming troupe and junior and senior dance ensembles along with a junior and senior choir that perform in festivals and at school events.
Trips and excursions
Our students enjoy getting out of the classroom to explore, learn and try new things. These experiences help them grow, build confidence and see how their learning connects to the world.
PSSA Sport
Students in years 3 - 6 have the opportunity to try out for PSSA sport competitions throughout the year with many qualifying to compete at Sydney East and state levels. Miranda North generally participates in soccer and netball during Terms 2 and 3 and in Term 4 students have the choice of applying for Friday sport at local venues including 5Sports, swimming and gymnastics.
